Student Veteran Career Counseling at Penn State
Penn State’s Student Veteran Career Counselor (SVCC) is committed to offering a myriad of services, programs, and support for all student veterans, active-duty service members, and currently serving reservists and National Guard members across all Penn State campuses. Whether you’re looking to specify your career goals, expand on and explore your career options, acquire and refine strategies and skills to launch your career post-graduation, or prepare for advanced higher education, the SVCC can assist as you navigate your pathway.

SERVICES & PROGRAMMING
- Career-focused workshops: resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, networking, job/internship search, preparing for/applying to graduate or professional school, building a strong social media presence, and job offer/salary negotiation.

- Can’t find an appointment time convenient for you? No problem, email Mary at svcc@psu.edu.
- Drop-Ins every Friday from 9-11 am: in-person or via Zoom.
- Lunch ‘n Learns: learn about and network with companies and organizations like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Deloitte, State Troopers, the Silicon Carbide Innovation Alliance, and many more!
- Student Veteran Career Fair – every fall.
- Student Veteran Networking Summit – every spring.
- Panels with industry experts, law schools, med schools, and graduate and professional schools.
- Mary’s Weekly Email Blasts: disseminated weekly to all currently enrolled military students. These emails are packed with upcoming events, webinars, Lunch ‘n Learn registration information, job or internship postings, and more! If you are not receiving them, email Mary at svcc@psu.edu to be added.
Only the career fairs and networking summits must be attended in person; all other programs and services are offered via a hybrid modality (in-person and virtually) to allow attendance for all Penn State military students.
